How do I apply for on campus accommodation?
Application form can be accessed from the homepage of the website from April
18th to April 26th ONLY
*Please note no payment is to be made until you are offered a place by email.*
Should you accept a room offer you will then be required to pay the €400 deposit to confirm your booking.
When can I check in?
Check in to Grove Island for the 2023/2024 Academic year is September 1st 2023 for Autumn and full year students and January for Spring semester students.
What are the reception opening hours?
Regular office hours during the academic year are as follows:
8am to 4pm Monday to Friday
Security staff on site in office as follows:
4pm to 8am Monday to Friday
8am Saturday to 8am Monday
Who will meet me at the village?
Where do I get my key?
Can I check in if I have not yet paid my rent?
Full pre-payment of the utilities, electricity, first instalment of rent and full deposit are required before check in.
How far away is Grove Island Student Village to LSAD?
Is my deposit part of my rent?
The deposit is separate to your rent. It becomes a damage deposit once you arrive to the village and will be returned to you after your stay as long as there is no damage to the accommodation or any outstanding bills.
How is my damage deposit refunded?
What is the cancellation policy?
First Year Students:
A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. First year applicants must notify us VIA EMAIL no later than 3 days from when the First Round Offers (CAO Offer Day is Day One) are made if they wish to cancel their booking. €300.00 of the booking fee will be returned.
Cancellation after the 3rd day will result in Total Loss of Deposit. Any 1st Year Applications cancelled before release of CAO offers will be refunded €400.00.
2ND/3RD/4TH/POST GRAD Students:
Re-bookers – your deposit of €400 from 2022/2023 is carried forward into 2023/2024. Should you incur charges following your check out room inspection, you will need to pay a deposit top up charge to ensure your deposit remains at €400 for the 2023/204 academic year. Should you cancel prior to 31st of July 2023 then a refund of €300 will apply pending final inspection. Cancellation after this date will result in Total Loss of Deposit.
New Students –Should you cancel prior to 31st July 2023 a €300 refund will apply. Cancellation after this date will result in Total Loss of Deposit. Cancellation of bookings received from 1st August 2023 once deposit is paid will result in Total Loss of Deposit.
What if I change my mind or find alternative accommodation? Do I get my deposit back?
First Year Students:

What should I bring for my room?
Mattress protector is provided for each bed, (return to reception if they wish to purchase their own)
Students must bring their own duvets, pillows, towels, toiletries and bed linen.
The majority of the bedrooms have single beds.
There is a limited number of double beds, allocations are random.
Any student who is allocated a double bed will be notified so they can purchase the correct size duvet etc.
What is provided for in the living/kitchen area?
Each kitchen is equipped with crockery, utensils and cutlery for each resident. Kitchens are fully equipped with a bin, hoover, mop and mop bucket, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob, oven, refrigerator & freezer.
Note: Television/TV Licence or Channels not provided.
Is there somewhere to park my car?
The village offers limited on street parking around Grove Island with permits issued to students. Students can also avail of the use of the multi-story car park beside Grove Island at special discounted rates for students
Where is the Grove Island located in relation to the city centre? Can I walk there?
Are the rooms insured?
Students should purchase their own content insurance should they wish as the village insurance does not cover individual students personal contents.
How do I know where I will be living and with whom?
Your apartment and room number will be available to you on check-in. If you have requested to live with someone, we will do everything we can to fulfil your request. However, this is not always possible or guaranteed.
Students who wish to share with a friend must be staying forthe same length of their friend and their friend must also request to live with them in order for a request to be considered.

When will I get my deposit refund?
End of year refunds are normally completed 6-8 weeks after the check-out date in the lease agreement.
