New Academic Year 2025/2026
September 2025 – May 2026
Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year are now closed. Students who applied to the lottery will receive their result by email by the end of May 2025. We will open our waitlist in June anyone who did not apply to our lottery.
Important Information for Applicants:
- All applications will need to come through the website – we do not accept applications through phone or email.
- Students can only make one application per village waitlist with M&C Property. Students with multiple applications to the same village will be removed from the waitlist completely.
- Students must apply in their own name. Students applying under another name or a parent or guardians name would be cancelled as this cannot be changed at a later date.
- Students will need to select a room preference when applying. This does not affect your chance of getting a room. If your first preference room type is not available, you would be offered the next available option.
- There is no charge to apply to the waitlist. You will be required to pay a deposit if you are offered a room.
- There will be an option to apply for a full academic year, autumn semester only or spring semester only room.
- Students who do not receive a room in the lottery will be automatically waitlisted and should NOT reapply to the waitlist. These students will be prioritised should rooms become available.
- To apply you will need your personal information including your PPS number. If you are an international student with no PPS number you can use 1111111A and we will change this once you receive your PPS number.
- If you do not receive your security code, please check your junk/spam folder for ‘donotreply@mcp.ie’ and it will appear in your email.
- We will only offer further rooms after the lottery should we receive cancellations. We cannot guarantee any student on the waitlist a place in the village.

Grove Island is a purpose-built Village. It houses 300 students in four- and five-bedroom apartments. The village includes a shopping centre with supermarket, retail outlets and state of the art leisure centre. The village offers free on-street parking around Grove Island Student Village with permits issued to students

All bedrooms are en-suite and come complete with large study desk and adequate wardrobe space.
The adjoining living room, dining room and kitchen are fully furnished and are equipped with crockery, utensils and cutlery for each resident.
Kitchens are fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, hob and oven.
Parking
The village offers limited free on-street parking around Grove Island Student Village with permits issued to students. Clamping is in operation
Students can also avail of the use of the multi storey car park beside Grove Island at special discounted rates for students.
Rent 2025/2026
Rent is based on a 38-week lease.

Rental fees are split into 9 instalments.
Instalments are due in advance on the 15th of each month from August 2025 to April 2026.
Electricity and utility fees are a once off charge due in advance of checking in. Both of these payments are due on the 2nd of September for full year and autumn bookings and 13th of January for Spring bookings.
*Deposits on all bookings are equal to one months rental fee

Application Cancellation Policy
If the applicant is unsuccessful in their application to their chosen college and wishes to cancel the accommodation, the applicant must cancel by email by close of business on the 15th August 2025. Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted.
In the event of cancellation by the aforementioned date, a €100 cancellation fee will be deducted from the booking deposit and the remainder refunded. Refunds will be issued by bank transfer only. If the applicant cancels after the cut-off date outlined above no refund will be issued and the full security deposit will be retained.
An exception will be made for 1st year students waiting on CAO offers – if they cancel within 48 hours of the release of 1st round CAO offers, a cancellation fee of €100 will be applied and the balance of their deposit will be refunded. However if they cancel later than 48 hours after 1st round CAO offers are released they will lose the full deposit.
Tenant Cancellation Policy
If the tenant cancels after having paid the first rental instalment, or at any time during the course of the lease agreement, a refund of rent will only be made after the bed-space has been resold and paid for. The cancelling tenant is responsible for rent for any period up until the new tenant moves in. Grove Island Student Village is not obliged to find a replacement tenant. If a replacement is not found the tenant may be held liable for any outstanding rent for the duration of the fixed term lease.
Failure to refill the bed space will result in the tenant losing all monies paid. If a replacement tenant is found partial rental refund will be processed from when the new tenant moves in. After check in, any electricity prepayment applied to the pre-paid meter cannot be refunded. The utilities fee will be refunded on a pro rata basis from the date of the payment of the replacement tenant. Bill Management fee is non refundable. If a replacement tenant is found, once the tenant has departed an inspection of the property will have to take place before any monies due to the outgoing tenant can be refunded. Any rent arrears, damages, cleaning issues or missing inventory will be deducted from these monies.
Please note that when a student leaves, management has the right to move another resident into that student’s vacant room. If this occurs, the student must still find a replacement for the room which is vacant.
Late applicants
For any late applicants booking after the commencement of the lease where spaces have become available due to cancellation, full payment due must be made within 24 hours of offer of room or the room will be forfeit.
Semester 2
Any applicant who is successful in securing a bed space for Semester 2, once the booking / damage deposit is paid to secure the room there will be a 24 hour cooling off period after which no refund will be given in the event of cancellation. The first rental payment, electricity prepayment & utilities fee is due on or before 15th December 2023.
The same booking cancellation procedure as above will apply to Semester 2 students.
Eviction
If a student is evicted, no refund will be made.Sports and Activities
